Baby the Vampire Slayer [ July 17th, 2009 @ 3:24pm ] vibrantsarcasm Though I posted yesterday about my current girl crushes, none of them are the OG (original gangsta). For years and years Sarah Michelle Gellar was my favorite person in the world. She embodied one of the coolest, most ass-kicking women to ever grace the television screen (and video games and comics though, I guess its just her likeness and she didn't have to do anything for the comics) Buffy Summers, the vampire slayer. She is a very talented actress and after Buffy went off the air six years ago, people seemed to forget about her. OK, not forget about her, because who could forget her? But they stopped talking about her. It's partly because she and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. (another previously loved person by Kaitlin - no I do not own several of his movies on VHS or DVD) prefer to keep their lives private. I often group SMG and Lauren Graham into the same category when I talk about them. They are two actresses who can make you laugh in one scene and then have you crying in another simply by changing their facial expression. They are both master fake-criers. Some people can act, and then some people can act. Both of them always seem to make me believe they really ARE that sad. I forget it's not real (something I really need to get over when it comes to TV). Anyway, so I love SMG and we shouldn't forget about her because she's amazing, but back to the point of this update (I assure you that I have one). When I heard this past spring that SMG was pregnant, I was overly excited about it. I couldn't believe it. My all-time favorite celebrity couple were going to have a little vampire slayer of their own! With all the hubbub of my life (because I'm so busy these days watching The Big Bang Theory and Nurse Jackie) I'd kind of forgotten about SMG's little baby brewing. So, today when I came across these pictures, I got super excited again. I thought I was excited when I heard Alyson Hannigan was going to have a baby with Wesley Wyndham-Price Sandy Rivers her husband Alexis Denisof. It was the first time I actually cared that actors and actresses were procreating. The first time I actually gave a crap about a baby name. And it's because of my love for Buffy and HIMYM. But now, this little tyke that is due this autumn, is surpassing that of Aly's baby. That's going to be beautiful baby. I bet it comes out and says, "Fire bad, tree pretty." Emmy madness has returned! [ July 16th, 2009 @ 11:46am ] vibrantsarcasm The Emmy nominations were released this morning. I literally woke up and went, "OMG IT'S EMMY NOMINATION DAY!" It was like, Christmas morning for an 8-year-old who still believes in Santa Claus. I felt a little silly after I did that, but I have been waiting to see these nominations for months now. I've been speculating for weeks on the chances of Battlestar Galactica and Friday Night Lights making an appearance in the main categories. I knew it was a long shot, but Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler, Mary McDonnell and Edward James Olmos deserved to be nominated for the outstanding work they do/did on their respective shows. And the shows deserved to be nominated themselves. Of course, none of them were nominated and I'm really upset about it. But, BSG was nominated for five other awards, including Best Director for Daybreak (Part 2), which made me happy. The webisodes were also nominated ... against Dr. Horrible!!! Anyways, aside from my depression about BSG getting snubbed one final time (I really thought it would be like Lord of the Rings and get nominated and WIN for the final installment. But, alas, the Emmys still refuse to acknowledge the truly great - meaing Buffy and cast, as well as Lauren Graham and Kristen Bell.) I am very excited for some of the nominations: Neil Patrick Harris was nominated for the third year in a row for his portrayal of Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother Jim Parsons was nominated in the lead actor category for a comedy for his portrayal of Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory (OMG SUPER DUPER TOTALLY FREAKING OUT EXCITED) HIMYM was nominated for Best Comedy! Kristin Chenoweth was nominated for her portrayal of Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies Jeremy Piven was NOT nominated, which means NPH is the sure winner. The drama categories didn't do much for me since BSG and FNL were snubbed, so, yeah.
